What can be seen and experienced in Agger

In Agger town you can find the nearest grocery store, Min Købmand Agger – Agger Surf and Event can take you out to the best spots in Agger and surf, where you can then finish in their bar with a cold beer or soft drink. Or visit some of Agger’s historic attractions such as the black houses or the fisherman’s house.

Agger Beach

Agger Strand, where you can take a walk up to the sea and see the statue “Mary” looking out over the North Sea, take a walk out on the piers or along the wide beach and feel the wind or on a calm day dip your feet in the water or take go for a swim between the piers. In July/August you can be lucky to see the splashes in the water and a high chance of catching mackerel from the jetties.

Agger Harbour

Agger Havn, where you can take a walk around the harbor and visit the local fishmonger, while the children catch small crabs from the small floating bridge in the harbor. Or, if you’re a bit fresher, take a trip out and get some fresh air with Cold Hawaii Watersport in a RIB boat on their dolphin and seal safari or champagne sunset cruise.

Agger Tange

Agger Tange is the entrance to Thy National Park. Agger Tange is rich in birds and wild animals in addition, if it interests you, you can visit Svaneholmhus at Agger Tange, where there is an exhibition about the animal and plant life at Agger Tange.

Local eateries

Eating places in Agger and the area – Agger offers a number of different dining options, everything from gourmet food to barbecue and ice cream. Inside Agger itself there is the Vesterhavshytten, Signalmasten Agger, Agger Badehotel, Agger Ice Café and the Michelin restaurant Tri. Lodbjerg

Visit Lodbjerg lighthouse, located in Thy National Park, where you can climb the lighthouse and see the view of Lodbjerg. Afterwards, you can visit Kaffestuen and have a coffee break in their small café in the old lighthouse keeper’s residence. There is parking at the lighthouse and from there you can take a short or long walk in the forest’s paths.

Thyboron

Thyboron, where you can take the ferry across, from Agger Tange. (the ferry times can be read on their website) In Thyboron, if you have children with you, it would be exciting to visit the Coastal Centre, the Jutland Aquarium or Sneglehuset in Thyboron. On a nice quiet day, you can also take a look at Thyboron Beach and have a dip.

Thy National Park

Thy National Park is one of the great characteristics of Thy. Thy National Park takes up a large part of Thy, which makes it easy to find. In the national park Thy you can find many different paths where you can go on hikes. In addition, the Vesterhavs camino has been set up, which starts in Agger and ends in Vigso.

Hanstholm

Hanstholm is a smaller town with the largest fishing harbor in Thy. Hanstholm is i.a. known for its many bunkers from World War 2, which are still standing there today. If you are interested in history, the Bunker Museum in Hanstholm is definitely a place to visit. It is interesting for both adults and children. At the Bunker Museum you can come down and see bunkers and cannons from the time. If you are hungry, after a tour around Hanstholm’s bunkers and nature, you can go up and eat at the Madbaren, which is located on top of the slope and has a fantastic view over the harbor and the North Sea.

Klitmoller

Klitmoller is known for its “laid back” atmosphere and fantastic surfing activities and is also called Cold Hawaii because of the good surf conditions.

Vorupor

Vorupor is south of Klitmoller and is a small town by the water too. In Vorupor you can visit Vorupor Strand or the harbor bath by the beach. In addition, you can visit the Nordsø Aquarium or take a look in their small shops or get a unique pizza from VØ Pizzabar.
